Hey guys. There are still many europeans here who give a shit about rugby... so here's the rugby world cup thread.
France, my home country was a favorite in the championship but they lost their first game against Argentina (what a shame).

EDIT: but USA is qualified for the rugby world cup too! The american team could do well too, who knows, in general Rugby is mostly a sport for the English, scottish, welsh, irish, french, italians, australians, new zealand, (etc...) but the americans here can still support their team, it would do a great deal for this sport, make it a little more international.

Chabal is one scary looking bloke, when I first saw him few years ago the first thing that came to mind was the similarity to a klingon.
England played absolutley dire yesterday, but I suppose thats what we get from having a fifteen full of old men. The aussies look pretty damn likely to take the overall win I reckon.
Am deffinately looking forward to seeing the Somoans play the South Africans today and to see the tongans play, they are absolutely mad.
Also glanced at the tv yesterday when Italy were playing and caught a glimpse of Castrogiovanni and thought what the hell is Johan doing playing for italy.

the french look like they will struggle to make the quarter finals now, they will have to beat ireland and even then will most likely play NZ which will be a tough game. aussies have wales this weekend, should be their only tough game of the pool round. im definately booking myself in to go to new zealand for 6 weeks in 2011 for the world cup then, wanted to go to france for this one but im too broke

Sad enough ... watching US football on the TV made me wish to see some rugby were men do not need a full armor to play, were you do not have fucking commercials for shitty beer and bimbos every 3 minutes,...

I missed seeing the Argentinian team's training in Brussels after they beat us 28-8. I can't remember if it was a friendly game or a qualifier but they had a free visitor training in preparation for the world cup. Great videos btw.

Alot of rugby players still play into their mid 30's at test level. I once played with a guy who was 65 years old when i was coming back from injury and playing 4th grade. He was a prop and i watched him bend 4 guys in their 20's in that game, we ended up with uncontested scrums because they ran out of props. Mind you, this guy had to get fluid drained out of his knee once a month so go figure. So you are really never too old.
