Saga frontman, Michael Sadler, who was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of muscle invasive cancer, and underwent surgery on September 12, 2024, has checked in with the following update:
“Hi everyone, hope you’re all managing a smile or chuckle, at least once a day
I wanted to say thanks very much for checking up on me lately. Your kind messages and DMs mean the world, even if I haven’t had the chance to reply to you all.
Please know that I am recovering as well as can be expected. I can sing, play and run errands as long as I’m careful where I step.
For those asking about SAGA and future plans, we’re approaching our 48th anniversary in three days, and I’m acutely aware of what that milestone means.
Unfortunately at the moment, our health and personal challenges make it hard to accept offers for live shows “as usual”, although we do have a few things under consideration.
Our event partners usually need 9-12 months’ notice for typical events, though a pre-sold special event could come together faster. I’ll share more when we have clarity on the variables.
Meanwhile, I’m currently racing against the tight wound clock and trying to spend time with my family as much as I can.
