Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas- "Live Hallelujah."
Cover: 8 bottles of Cabo Wabo Tequila out of 10
Artist name, Album tile & All 17 tracks inserted into live Color picture of
The Red Rocker & Victor Johnson live on stage. You don't see artists do this too often. This disc would really catch you eye at the record store if you were walking by the disc racks. Something else that unusual is the back tray insert, which just features the UPC with label info & a picture of the band live on stage.
Booklet: 8 Hung Over "Red Heads" out of 10
10 pages of Live shots of the band, Liners by Sammy Hagar, listing of the venues where the tracks were recorded. And also a page of Red Rocker merch. Not a bad booklet. This is unexpected as Sanctuary Records, for the most part puts out what appears to be "half assed" booklets & packaging.
Songs: 9 David Lee Roth Temper Tantrums out of 10
Sammy rips through 16 tracks ranging from old standards to the stuff like the new Sammy standard "Mas Tequila." Sammy also does "Rock Candy" from the old Montrose days & squeezes four Van Hagar tracks "When it's Love" features Gary Cherone trading vocals with Hagar. You know what? It works! Great sounding track. And on "Right Now" & "Dreams" Michael Anthony sits in on bass. Two very cool moments captured on disc courtesy of the Red Rocker. Sammy added the track "Hallelujah" off his last record "Not 4 Sale" to this collection. You might ask why? Well, buy the record. Sammy explains in the liners. This disc will please, any fans of the Hagar era Van Halen of fans of Sammy's Montrose & solo days. Unlike the last record that Van Halen issued, this is raw & in your face. Crack one open, pop this one in & kick back & enjoy the show....
