hmmm..a new Satyricon eh,i have'nt been overly impressed with their last couple albums,although i absolutely love everything they've done up to Rebel Extravaganza,very underated album IMO,i guess a band such as Satyricon needs to progress so it will be at the very least interesting to see where this new one goes

I've honestly enjoyed every Satyricon album. I'd go as far as to say that my favorite release is their most recent, Now Diabolical. There does seem to be a divide in the fanbase, though.

If they'd kept going in the direction of say, Nemesis Divina but with better production, they'd essentially sound just like Dimmu Borgir does today. I love Dimmu Borgir, but do we really need more of that? I think it's cool that they're doing their own thing.

I liked Volcano a fair amount, but to me it sounds like a less captivating "Sons of Northern Darkness," which FUCKING RULES. Haven't heard any other Satyricon...

I hope the new shit pwns. I wasn't too into Now Diabolical.

There does seem to be a divide in the fanbase, though.

I Chated with a Norwegian BM Guy (Involved in the whole escene and some "Big" bands) and he said that BM fans in Norway consider modern Satyricon as Rock & Roll

Satyricon is more about the 80's black metal thing (Venom etc), which did sound quite rock & roll compared to modern black metal.
