Im really liking the sound on this record. It doesnt sound squashed at all I think.
The drums are just really massive, especially the bassdrum.

The music is alright too. Its better than Volcano and Now, Diabolical for sure, but its still a long way from Rebel Extravaganza,

I like it but there is something weird about it to me. almost too much guitars up front maybe that's just me though. although I am a fan of satyricon's music, their newer stuff doesn't come close to Nemesis Divina IMO.

Guitars are almost TOO big on this record. Mesa Boogie Stiletto, no idea how they miked it or what the settings were... and the drums sound smallish to me, but perhaps it's mainly that they're not loud enough. Joe Baressi's work with Tool and Queens of the Stone Age is incredible, I'm not quite sure what happened, but in the end this is Satyr and Frost's vision.

All that being said - this is Satyricon at their best IMO. They have put out another masterpiece.
