Savatage / Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitarist Chris Caffery recently shared the following update on his new solo collection, 20 Years Of The Music Man, which will be released internationally on June 13 via Metalville.
“It’s so much fun finally having some of my solo music on vinyl!
This is the next single, ‘Do You See What I See Now?’, which features lead vocals being shared by yours truly and one of the true heave metal vocal GOATs: my brother Jeff Scott Soto! It also features a really cool keyboard and guitar solo battle with yours truly and the one and only Derek Sherinian! It also features the drums and bass of Brian Tichy and Sean McNabb!
JSS and I have yet to send our vocal videos to Wayne Joyner to complete the final of the 3 videos for the release. Looking forward to seeing what Wayne does for this one.
The LP and CD look awesome. Frédéric Descamps did such an amazing job with the cover art and the packaging. We are currently putting together a cool timeline of the music from the last 20 years with all the credits and more photos. My schedule was so crazy when the record packaging was being finished I wanted to add a few missing details. These posters will only be available on purchases at my website.
The CD has sold out in the pre-sale. The vinyl is still available. Since I have some extra time before I ship things I may try to add a new guitar pick or at least a rare old CC guitar pick into all the packages as well. Just to help celebrate the release with those who purchase the personally autographed versions at my website. I can’t ship these before I leave because I’m not allowed to put the product into your hands before release day. The label told me that’s a no-no! I promise you will have them as soon as humanly possible. That is why I’m trying to add a couple special items as well because I will have the time to get that together.
Have a great rest of this holiday weekend and remember as you celebrate the reason why we commemorate this holiday. Take some time to reflect on the heroes that lost their lives for your freedom. The brave men and women who will watch us all celebrate from the heavens and not the golf courses, sporting events, concerts, bbq’s and/or dinner parties!
Thank you all for your continued friendship and support!”

With 20 Years Of The Music Man, the Savatage and Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitarist presents a very personal selection of 21 songs from his successful solo career, which has now spanned two decades. The compilation includes songs from his previous solo albums as well as rare and unreleased tracks that Chris considers too important not to make available to the fans.
Chris says about his selection, “In 2004, I released my first solo record. I wasn’t sure what to expect; I just knew I wanted to make some music on my own. It was a time when I had a lot of questions, not only about myself but where certain parts of my life were heading. The ‘Music Man’ in me decided to use my energy positively. I spent 20 years writing and recording and expressing myself to you. This new release contains some of your favorite songs as well as mine. There are also some unreleased songs and a brand new one, as well.
“I’d like to thank all of the amazing musicians, engineers, and producers who participated on these recordings with me.
“I dedicate this to all of you, my friends. Also to my mentor in heaven who believed in me from the earliest days of my career, Mr. Paul O’Neill, and a special dedication to my mom, who remained my best friend and supporter through all of my rollercoaster rides these past couple decades.
“Thank you all for being a part of my journey and I look forward to continuing the next 20 years and beyond!”
