I finally checked out Ihsahn of Emperor's solo project and goddamn, I am totally in love with the trilogy. Its the first time I've heard saxophone in metal. And its done very fucking well.

If anyone knows any others, please let me know. PLEASE. Let me know.

Also general Ihsahn fanboyism encouraged. Top five modern musicians, hands down. Seems like a cool dude too, I read an interview while seeking his solo music about his take on Helvete.
:worship:

Ihsahn is lame. Some melodies on Rotting Christ"s "Non Serviam" album that sounds like it could belong in a 90s porno. Check that shit out.

Excuse me sir.... but Rotting Christ is most assuredly ten times lamer than Ihsahn. I've heard one song ever that I liked.

However I will look into that shit.

Alright so this one's more prog rock than metal, but it sports the heaviest use of saxophones on all of our material (3 different octaves of dat sax, and a solo by my drummer, who's our lead sax man):

This one showcases more of our standard fare, with sax and flute harmonies, and more extreme metal:

There's a saxophone solo type thing in a Nachtmystium song. I think it's "Seasick Part III". Anyway, it almost made me puke because I hate the saxophone for the most part. But, you might like it.

I gotta be honest... I'm not a fan of female vocals, in general, in almost all music, unless it's a Janis Joplin or Amy Winehouse kind of thing. I really dug the instrumental bits though.
