Loving the Avantasia albums I bought from iTunes yesterday. Especially Scales of Justice:

I've yet to buy these albums but I will eventually. Never was "blown away" by any of the Avantasias or Edguys but I think this is worth getting just because of the lineup involved.

I have to disagree with the thread title though, the Gettysburg trilogy by Iced Earth is by far the best stuff Owens has even sung on.

I'm gonna disagree too. As a matter of fact I'm highly dissapointed with 'Scales Of Justice', I was expecting better for the Avantasia project (which actually was overkilled by Tobias IMO, I think a great cut and fit worth songs in one album will have done better).

Got my copy of TWS today... Tim have been weighed on the scales and found wanting, sorry but it's my appreciation.

As a matter of fact the whole album is like a redux of TMO, also 'Crestfallen' that has a pretty nice riff screws up with Jorn vocals (specially towards the end of the song).

The only worthy song is 'Dying For An Angel' and Tobias should have to keep his mouth shut and let Klaus do all the work, sad indeed after the mighty "Scarecrow".

Oh well, it may be grow on me someday.

Well, I'll go against the grain and say I liked the two albums. Obviously some filler and not as good as Scarecrow, but about 70% make nice additions on the ipod that I'll continue to play in the future.
