Not ridiculously obscure but some lesser known gems...

Convulse - World Without God
Epitaph - Seeming Salvation
Belial - Wisdom of Darkness
Adramelech - Psychostasia
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
Cadaver - ...In Pains
Carbonized - For the Security
Cartilage - The Fragile Concept of Affection
Cemetary - An Evil Shade of Grey
Crypt of Kerberos - The Macrodex of War
Purtenance - Member of Immortal Damnation

yeah it was kind of funny, i started thinking about all of the bands in the genre that stand out as favorites to me, and i realized they are basically all swedish/scandinavian, so i guess i found my niche in death metal.

*hops on the obvious boat*

Dismember
Grave ~ Into the Grave
Entombed ~ Left Hand Path/Clandestine
Ribspreader ~ Opus Ribcage
Bloodbath

Old school swedish death metal is always the shit.

God Macabre - The Winterlong
Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus
Sorcery - Bloodchilling Tales
Sentenced - Shadows of the Past
Excruciate - Passage of Life
Merciless - The Awakening
Gorement - The Ending Quest
Megaslaughter - Calls From the Beyond
Authorize - The Source of Dominion
Moondark - The Shadowpath

All this stuff has been reissued in one way or another and should be relatively easy to find, so buy it if you like it.

Night in Gales - "Towards the Twilight"
Armageddon - "Crossing the Rubicon"
Gardenian
Soilwork
