German hard rock legends SCORPIONS were awarded the prestigious Der Steiger award on Saturday, October 12 in Bochum, Germany. Der Steiger, an international award which recognizes notable accomplishments in various fields, is awarded at an annual ceremony. The award is presented to individuals for their achievements in the fields of charity, tolerance, film, music, art, sport, the environment and commitment to the European community. Der Steiger honors qualities such as honesty, openness, responsibility, hard work and humanity. One of Germany's most successful musical exports, SCORPIONS was one of the biggest rock bands in in the mid-'80s and has remained a huge tour and festival act across Europe ever since.
