According to The Pulse Of Radio, former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland has launched a PledgeMusic campaign for pre-orders of his upcoming new solo album, and has offered a selection of various exclusive items at different prices. The top item? For $1,750, you can play paintball with the singer. The site states, "Scott Weiland loves paint-balling! You and a guest can join Scott in a group for a special session of paint-balling with him in the L.A. area." The site notes that the purchaser s responsible for all travel expenses in getting to Los Angeles. The date will be revealed to the winner with a six-to-eight-week lead time and will be fulfilled before fall 2015. According to Alternative Nation, Weiland is an avid paintball fan and even played with STP guitarist Dean DeLeo before one of their final shows together in 2012. The band went on two hours late that night. Weiland's new album with his band THE WILDABOUTS, "Blaster", will arrive on March 31. The singer has just released a track from the album called "White Lightning" via SoundCloud. Weiland told The Pulse Of Radio recently that touring with his solo band changed the way he approached writing his new album. "It's much more of an overall collaborative effort, and it's much more rock 'n' roll and it's a newer thing, 'cause we've been creating our own sound as we've been touring, and the sound grows and evolves and changes as we collaborate together as writers," he said. His last solo effort was the more experimental "Happy In Galoshes", released in 2008. Weiland will take THE WILDABOUTS on tour starting on February 22 in Scottsdale, Arizona, with shows booked through May.
