According to NewsOn6.com, John Holata, guitarist of the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based hard rock band SCREAMING RED MUTINY, died Sunday afternoon (December 25) after a suspected drunk driver crashed into him and his wife more than a week ago. A vehicle driven by 20-year old Megan Hobbs was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-244 on December 17 and hit the truck driven by Holata head on. Holata's truck was then hit by a third car, driven by 61-year old Cheryl Hopkins. Holata was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital on Christmas Day. The state medical examiner's office said he died from complications from his injuries from the crash. SCREAMING RED MUTINY will host a fundraiser February 4, 2017, at the Shrine. Proceeds from it will go towards Holata's funeral and medical costs. Friends of the Holatas have also set up a fundraising page to assist with costs. Formed in January 2016, SCREAMING RED MUTINY made its live debut at this year's Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma.
