and meeting Bruce Campbell right after... I'm psyched!

oooohhh, I know these aren't the movies "Guys" like to see... but check these out:

Chicago (a great piece of "old Hollywood")
The Hours (tremendous acting showcase... Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman simply rule)
The Pianist (absolutely BRILLIANT)

off to the movies kiddies... see ya

Damn! I had a great time!
This is a small, independent film about the greatest mystery of our times... what REALLY happened to Elvis ;)
You see... Elvis, the King, didn't die pumped full of pills, with his pants around his ankles, taking a shit... noooo! Elvis kicked some serious mummy ass!
Bruce Campbell was hilarious as a 69 year old Elvis, who hates life and what he has become. Ossie Davis, plays Jack, one of the nursing home residents, who thinks he's the real JFK, and he has been died black by Lyndon Johnson in an effort to get rid of him.
Bubba Ho-Tep is the mummy loose in the retirement home sucking the souls out of the residents, through their assholes...
don't let the premise turn you off... this was brilliantly executed by the directors and the actors... Too bad Hollyweird is too short-sighted and they'll make the Daredevils and Bad Boys 2, when with the catering budget for movies like that, they can make something as creative and original as this....

Bruce Campbell and director Don Coscarelli were there... also in attendance was Sam "Spider-man" Raimi (my little sister got an autograph), John Landis (of Thriller video fame), The Tall Man (from the Phantasm series)... among other VIPs... it was a fun night... Bruce Campbell was hilarious during the Q&A (I LOVE THIS GUY!)
Be on the lookout for this movie, Coscarelli and Campbell are going around the country and the buzz for this movie keeps building....

I've been hearing about the 'Bubba' movie for some time. Sounds like a trip. Hope he gets some better film roles and does less TV. Now that Sam has blown up with Spider-man, it doesn't look like there'll be another Evil Dead / horror movie from him anytime soon.

Just read Bruce's - "If Chins Could Kill" book with the added tour diary. Recommended for any fan of his.

Actually, Sam Raimi has been doing movies like the Evil Dead series with the money that he's been making from films like Spiderman so, there just might be a new Evil Dead film soon (with even better effects than previous movies! Won't that kind of ruin the fun, though? Just a thought...)!

I agree... the charm of those movies was the low budget....
Raimi could finance the flick now...

I can read your post :)

Hmmm... I can see it with Explorer, but not Netscape. I've always used Netscape in the past, but now with the new message board change, I can't see it on Netscape. Anybody else out there able to see it on Netscape? I prefer Netscape, so if anybody knows the cure, I'd much appreciate any suggestions. thx.

Like...?
I agree he does have his own style, but I haven't seen anything he's else he's directed that I'd say was like Evil Dead series. I did like some of his other movies - A Simple Plan, and The Gift were cool, but those were very different movies. Sam's cool, I just hope he uses his success for more control over the movies he directs and continues to use Bruce! :heh:

I use netscape too. What version do you use? I have the latest (version 7.0) and don't have any problems with this message board. Then again I use windows XP (HE) which netscape 6.0 & 7.0 versions work best with. I'd try the latest version of netscape if you don't already have it. Netscape 7.0

That's probably it. I'm using Netscape version 4.73 (shesh, ancient!) with Windows 2000 pro. Unfortunately, since it's not my computer, I can't upgrade. So, guess I'll stick to explorer for the bb.
