Sennheiser e609 placement

Guys I have been asking/looking around the web for a minute and have not found a solid answer to this. Is the proper way to use a 609 with the black side facing the guitar cab (silver side facing out), or with the silver side facing the guitar cab (black side facing out). I know it says "front" on the black side but I have seen them used both ways and I need to know which is correct, or if it even matters. Thanks!

I generally use them with the black facing inward and the silver facing out.

Are you sure the ones you've seen facing backwards aren't the regular 609's (or 409's) that are black on both sides?

I'm pretty sure no one uses them with the back side towards the speakers. those must be different types if you ask me.

Best placement would be at a 45 degree angle pointed towards the bottom of a trash can.

No, seriously, the side labeled "FRONT" goes towards the speakers. Period. No exceptions unless you have an older one. Which you don't.

Front is marked on the silver side of the 609.
and
Front is marked on the black side of the 906.

thanks for clearing that up, apparently whoever originally told me that was the correct way didn't know shit... and neither did the acts I saw come thru my venue that used the mics this way
