i still remember the day i received it in the mail (1992 perhaps, maybe 1993?), on the first spin my dad came in and told me how big of a loser i was and how i'd never go anywhere in life, then as soon as he walked away all i could think was "damn, Sepultura kicks ass."
Desperate Cry is their magnum opus, or whatever the hell they call their best track evar!!!111 It totally kicks my ass every time I hear it, even after 1 billion listens and 15 years. I still remember Rikki Asshat introducing the song on Headbanger's Ball:
"And here's Sepultra with Desperate City"
Yeah, he pronounced Sepultura without the second U and called it Desperate City. I guess he was too busy listening to his poseur wannabe glam rock to actually know anything about real metal.
Yeah, video was live footage. I don't think the song itself was live, though, just one of those faux-live videos of the era. I do enjoy The Past Reborns the Storms, but Desperate Cry is still their best, IMO.
