Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots cover (POD Farm, SSD 3.5)

Excellent drums! And guitartone is very close to spot-on and bass sounded great! Good mix. Very good...too bad there's no vocs. I waited for those ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS shit!

well, I don't know. Guitars are good (maybe very good), but in the bass tone is something very anoying somewhere in bass-mids - there sits more energy than in the bass and subbass bands, I don't feel it righ this way. It sounds a bit like if you pitched down octave the guitar more than regullar bass. Drums sound is good except the hihat, which is very separated from the rest. And drums are not really well programmed, they are too repetettive, without enough humanization. But these points were meant as if you compare it to the original track;-) Overall I think you have very good sound template for some future work.

Where's the vocals. I was waiting for the "ROOOOOOOOOTS BLOOOOOODY ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

But it never came!

Sounded good tho

I tried... I tried... I ruined my throat for the whole day but it was worthless. Max has always been my favourite vocalist for this kind of music, it´s so tough to even come close. I love old Sepultura. I still like it, but it´s not like Chaos AD.

Thanks, you have good ears. Actually the bass and guitars were tracked in drop-d and then I pitch shifted -3 semitones. My instruments are tweaked for low action on drop-d in a way that I can´t go lower without having to tweak the bridge and pickup. It´s sad because I like how the guitars sound with lower tunnings, but the bass, specially with lots of drive always get messy. When I tracked it sounded like this, and after I pitch shifted it became this. Lots of low rumbling everywhere :zombie:
Agree with the drums. I´m not a real drummer (neither guitarrist) but I play on my ekit and then I fix the midi so much that it´s as if I had written on mouse and keyboard.

This was just a test for the tones of the new SSD 3.5 and what I could do on POD Farm without post processing. I think it´s a good solution for demos.
