Serpents new single!

Hey guys,
I mixed and mastered the new Serpents record that is being released soon.
They just released the first single off of it and I figured I'd share it here!
For those that don't know, Serpents is a one man band made up of Andrew Mikhail who was in Oceano and is also in Defiler.

I had no clue he was still working on this after Dusty and everyone else left.

Musically it's kind of dull (even Malcolm's solo, which makes me sad), but the mix is quite cool.
It has the same feel and aesthetic as depths.

I'm assuming the drums are programmed, correct?

Did you handle any of the velocities, etc., or did you receive everything already bounced down?
I'm mainly asking because I always struggle to get blasts sounding decent when working with MIDI and the ones here are sounding quite good

Yup I handled the velocities. For that, just use softer hits with different values, and towards the end of the blasts have them slope down to an even lower value. That's what most drummers naturally do since they're getting ready for the next fill or whatever comes next.
