im going to the show at the wiltern in Los angeles,

and i know they've started the US part of the tour,
and i was wondering,
whats the set list gonna be??

People from the first two shows have posted identical setlists:

Heir Apparent
Grand Conjuration
Serenity Painted Death
Hope Leaves
The Lotus Eater
Bleak
The Night and the Silent Water
Deliverance
Demon of the Fall
The Drapery Falls (encore)

In my experience, this will not change at all during the entire US tour.

Hmmmmm. 2 different from the last list I saw, or saught after (the Aussie list). GC has replaced Hounds, and Hope replaces Disease...

Interesting. I'd rather hear Hounds, but GC may be interesting. Worcester tomorrow night !!

Im sure a song or two might change every now and then. If I was Opeth I would get a little tired of playing the same songs over and over.

Really, and what do you base this opinion on?

I've seen them headline 4 times in the US. Each time, their setlist stayed the same from the beginning to the end of the tour. The only changes were when songs were removed to accommodate delays or earlier curfews.

This is why I've had several posts (like THIS ONE and THAT ONE) warning people to avoid seeing the setlist before seeing the concert.

In the end, you do what you want. But IMO, knowing the exact setlist in advance ruins the surprise once you're at the concert.

I calculate about 92-100 minutes of music, give or take any improvisation.

Heir Apparent--8:50
The Grand Conjuration--10:21
Serenity Painted Death--9:13
Hope Leaves--4:30 minutes
The Lotus Eater--8:50
Bleak--9:15
The Night and the Silent Water--11:00
Deliverance--13:36
Demon of the Fall--6:13
The Drapery Falls--10:53

Kind of surprising to see Deliverance and Demon of the Fall. Nice setlist overall. If they took out GC and played Blackwater Park as an encore, that would be awesome. I doubt that will happen.

It wouldn't suprise me to see the setlist change slightly from gig to gig. I saw them a few years back and I know the setlists before and after my show weren't the same as the one I saw. I had Deliverance as an encore while the others had Demon. They didn't plan Demon at my show and they didn't play Deliverance at the other shows. I think one other song was different as well.

I would change

Heir Apparent < Hessian Peel
Grand Conjuration < Ghost Of Perdition
Serenity Painted Death
Hope Leaves
The Lotus Eater
Bleak
The Night and the Silent Water
Deliverance < Master's Apprentice
Demon of the Fall
The Drapery Falls (encore)

+1
That would rule
BUT i think i would rather throw in Harlequin Forest or Beneath the Mire instead of GoP, but that song rules. I STILL bust a nut everytime they play the end of deliverance, i've seen them play it like 5 times now.

WORCESTER TOMMOROW! FUCKING A.

Heir Apparent < The Moor
Grand Conjuration < The Lotus Eater
Serenity Painted Death < Ghost Of Perdition
Hope Leaves

Bleak

Deliverance
Demon of the Fall < Blackwater Park

That's a sweeeet setlist, excellent selection of songs. The only things I would change would be to replace TGC with Ghost of Perdition (and open with either that or The Lotus Eater), switch SPD for Face of Melinda, and play Porcelain Heart instead of HA. But either way, I'm super pumped for the Saskatoon show.

And does anybody know High on Fire's setlist?

Actually, wwallinga, I totally agree with you. That said, I suppose I did facilitate that sort of spoiling by posting the setlist in another topic, but it was, after all, at topic specifically about a concert which had just finished. In any event, though, seeing the setlist before going to the concert just feels to me like finding out as a kid what all of your Christmas presents are before the morning actually dawns. It just kills a lot of the surprise... not to mention the suspense that comes when they intentionally drag out announcing which song they're about to play.

To each his own, I suppose, though.
