SEVENDUST frontman Lajon Witherspoon says the band is now inclined to tour less than before and focus more on its family commitments, in part because it finally has the right team in place, including a new record label, Rise Records. During the early part of their career, the Atlanta-based outfit was often counted upon to release an album every other year, then commit to long bouts of touring. In an interview with Lou Brutus of HardDrive Radio (watch video below) conducted at this year's Rock Fest, which was held last month in Cadott, Wisconsin, Witherspoon was asked about the reaction to the band's latest studio album, "All I See Is War": "It's been great," Lajon said. "Everybody seems excited. We're excited about not only touring the states, but also getting back overseas to the U.K. with ALL THAT REMAINS." Speaking about how he manages to balance family life with the demands of being in a successful rock band, Lajon said: "It's been hard, but SEVENDUST now, we have people on our side. We don't tour like we used to. We tour for a month or two, then we go home for two or three weeks, then go out and do it again. Family is very important, especially at this stage in our lives. I can't believe it — we took off that year and a half and I was able to go to my daddy-daughter dances and not have my best buddy Doc Brian, which I love, our family doctor, take her. It was special for me to be able to be a part of those things. It's just been so cool." SEVENDUST will join CLUTCH on the fall 2018 "Book Of Bad Decisions Tour" with additional support from TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN. The tour will kick off September 18 in St. Paul, Minnesota and wrap October 28 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. SEVENDUST is continuing to tour in support of "All I See Is War", which was released May 11 via Rise Records. The album was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with Slash and ALTER BRIDGE, among other artists.
