SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose is undergoing surgery for an undisclosed ailment which caused the cancelation of the band's U.K. shows as the support act for ALTER BRIDGE and SHINEDOWN. On Wednesday (December 11), SEVENDUST announced that it was pulling out of the tour because Morgan was "sick" and "under doctor's orders not to leave the country." The trek was scheduled to kick off on December 14 at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham and conclude on December 21 at The O2 in London. Earlier today, Rose posted a hospital selfie on Instagram and included the following message: "Hey guys. So sorry for the delay in making a statement myself. Been a rough few days. First of all, thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers. I'm humbled by all the attention. A little uncomfortable to be be honest. Lol. I'll be on my way into surgery any minute. Honestly I'm a little scared, but I'm ready to figure out what's wrong. Hopefully this will give us some answers. I'm sure I'll be out of commission for awhile after this. But someone will pass along some updates, without me knowing they're doing it. I love you guys so very much. (Excuse the dramatic hospital bed selfie. God bless everyone." Earlier this week, Trevor Omar, who works for Rose's official clothing line, Alien Freak Wear, issued an update on the drummer's condition, saying that Morgan was "in the hospital and stable" and asking fans to keep Rose in their "thoughts and prayers." SEVENDUST is still slated to play three "Acoustic Xmas" shows in Florida and Georgia at the end of the month. In a 2018 interview with CrypticRock.com, Rose admitted that he no longer parties as hard as he once did while on the road with SEVENDUST. "We are not the way that we used to be as far as the self-inflicted damage we put on ourselves with extracurricular stuff," he said. "Some of the guys are in tip-top shape. Me, I tend to have a few more beers or cocktails maybe than the other guy, but I get my rest." SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery recently said that the band has "pretty much wrapped" the recording process for its new album, tentatively due next summer. The follow-up to last year's "All I See Is War" was once again tracked at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others.
