SEVENDUST's Morgan Rose says he is "out of the woods" following his recent surgery. The drummer was being treated for an undisclosed ailment which caused the cancelation of the band's U.K. shows as the support act for ALTER BRIDGE and SHINEDOWN. Less than a week ago, SEVENDUST announced that it was pulling out of the tour because Morgan was "sick" and "under doctor's orders not to leave the country." The trek was scheduled to kick off on December 14 at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham and conclude on December 21 at The O2 in London. Two days later, Morgan revealed that he was about to undergo surgery and he admitted to being "a little scared," although he claimed he was "ready to figure out what's wrong." On Monday, Rose took to his Instagram again to a post a couple of hospital photos of him with his family and he included the following message: "Hey guys. So I'm not gonna get into what the last week has been like too much. I hope everyone will understand. I will say I'm lucky to be here, and that the people that worked round the clock with me are the reason for that. "I feel confident saying that I'm out of the woods? I will have another surgery sometime in the next few months, but it looks like the reason for me ending up in the hospital in the first place has been handled for the most part. "I will forever be grateful to everyone for keeping me in their thoughts, and wishing me well during this ordeal. Having never been through anything like this, it was shocking to me how many people cared about me. My family and very close friends have been updated and understand what actually happened. Please appreciate their privacy. "I'm hoping to get home very soon, and start getting back on my feet. "I asked the doctors if I'd be okay to play the end of the year shows, and they looked at me like I was crazy. But I'm determined to finish out the year with my brothers. So that's that. At least barring any setbacks. Not sure what capacity I'll be involved? But I'm saying I'll be there. "Many people sent birthday wishes to me on the day I was being wheeled in for surgery saying how much of a bummer it must have been to spend my birthday like that. I will say that it was probably the best birthday I've ever had. I was alive. And that wasn't so certain before that day. "So you guys have a wonderful Xmas, and know that my heart was full over the love you sent my way. I'll will NEVER be able to thank you enough. God bless every one of you." SEVENDUST is still slated to play three "Acoustic Xmas" shows in Florida and Georgia at the end of the month. In a 2018 interview with CrypticRock.com, Rose admitted that he no longer parties as hard as he once did while on the road with SEVENDUST. "We are not the way that we used to be as far as the self-inflicted damage we put on ourselves with extracurricular stuff," he said. "Some of the guys are in tip-top shape. Me, I tend to have a few more beers or cocktails maybe than the other guy, but I get my rest." SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery recently said that the band has "pretty much wrapped" the recording process for its new album, tentatively due next summer. The follow-up to last year's "All I See Is War" was once again tracked at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others.
