sfz cymbals issues

hey, im triggering my cymbal sounds using sfz and coming to realise that the samples sound completly different when triggered compared to how they sound when i play the wav file. what is the reason behind this? to me it sounds like the attack is really lost. here is a typical set-up i would use in sfz to trigger a closed hi-hat sound.

<group>
key=c4 loop_mode=one_shot

<region> lorand=0 hirand=0.1 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (1).wav
<region> lorand=0.1 hirand=0.2 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (2).wav
<region> lorand=0.2 hirand=0.3 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (3).wav
<region> lorand=0.3 hirand=0.4 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (4).wav
<region> lorand=0.4 hirand=0.5 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (5).wav
<region> lorand=0.5 hirand=0.6 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (6).wav
<region> lorand=0.6 hirand=0.7 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (7).wav
<region> lorand=0.7 hirand=0.8 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (8).wav
<region> lorand=0.8 hirand=0.9 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (9).wav
<region> lorand=0.9 hirand=1 sample=Hi Hat Paiste Twenty 14in [clsd] [tip] (10).wav

anybody got any knowledge on this issue?
