Shadows Fall...

...are kickin my ASS! I bought 'The Art of Balance' when it came out and it didn't do much for me. Now, over a year later (after ignoring it), it is blowing me away! Holy fuck, I need to get the rest of this band's material...

I don't think it is a good idea to get rid of CD's until you KNOW you will always dislike them...

This happened to anyone else?

I never get rid of CDs. Ever. I sold a few to Wherehouse and a few friends many years ago. Never again, since I've re-purchased nearly all of those.

Except I'm giving JayKeeley my copy of Dimmu Borgir - Puritan Esoteric Dadism, but I never listened to it enough to miss it later in life. :tickled:

I sell CDs all the time. It doesn't bother me at all. I've re-purchased probably less than 10% of the ones I've sold such as Fear Factory, Clutch, Type O Negative, Neurosis and a few others, so it doesn't bother me.

I'd rather someone that is actually going to listen to it own the CD instead of taking up space on my shelf. Plus, the money I make from selling CDs buys me the ones I actually do want.

It's my own fault that I sell them, because when I find a type of music I like, I go hog-wild and buy every band in that style. Then, a few later I only end up listening to the better bands, and have no need for the second tier bands. The last genre I did that with was the -cores, and now I'm unloading a few of them. Now I'm into doom, but I'm being very selective thanks to Erik.

That being said, I re-purchased Shadows Fall's debut and ended up selling it again, realizing why I sold it in the first place. I sold it as "brand new, unsealed", hehehe.

NAD, I'm surprised Jaykeeley didn't demand you pay him to take Dimmu off your hands. It's that bad.

I find the singer of Shadows Fall to be an atrocious hardcore turd. That said, the music on The Art of Balance is pretty good. The previous album bored me.

As for selling cds, I stopped doing it a long time ago due to too much regret. Over the years, I've accumulated a few things that are worth getting rid of, whenever I get around to it. The art of downloading pretty much eliminates the bad purchases nowadays.

Yeah, with downloading before I buy, I've negated the need to trade away too many CDs. But I do have a few up for trade/sale (some are cases where I bought multiple copies to save on shipping and haven't unloaded the extras yet). I also have a bunch of stuff I bought at Metal Blade's clearance sale that I ended up not liking at all. I should post my trade list on the trade board; it's been a while.

Agreed. The music is excellent - good summertime 'thrash' meant to be played when driving.

As for CD's, I have bucketloads of metal and non-metal CD's that I don't get round to playing too often, but I keep them for those rare occasions.

Having said that, I think it's pretty easy to figure out which CD's I'm not going to listen to anymore when I have stock loads full of second rate power metal. *cue obvious responses*

Shame someone like The End doesn't have a used section.

A used section at The End would be nice, especially now that they've raised prices yet again.
I just wrote a quick note to Andreas telling him that people would be willing to sell their used CDs, and there are probably even more willing to buy them. If The End doesn't do this, then I think someone should.

I really like Shadows Fall. I think 'Of One Blood' is better than 'The Art of Balance'. It is more of a mixture of death metal, thrash, and metalcore. BWD, you should definitely get it. DO WHAT I TELL!!!!!!

I have about 50 Shadows Fall stickers if anyone wants them. Every other mailorder I get, Shadows Fall stickers. Ridiculous!
