Shawn Hill "pump - Aerosmith Tribute Drummer" Benefit Concert

Hey there, some of us Maidens girls are gonna go jam some Maiden tunes with fellow Maiden tribute players of Powerslave at the Sean Hill benefit going on all day at the Normandie Casino on Sunday Sept 19. Come down and help a fellow metal musician in need!

Shawn Hill, the drummer for Pump "Aerosmith Tribute Band" is in the Kaiser hospital on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, Ca. fighting for his life. He is in need of a Heart and Lung Transplant. Shawn has a tear in the artery that runs from his heart to his lungs. He was born with transposition of the great arteries, "the artery that pumps the large portion of the heart is attached to the small portion and the small artery to the large portion" He also developed Pulmonary Hypertension a couple years ago, "A side effect to his heart condition." They are giving him medicine to speed the healing process and plasma to try and clog the artery where the tear is. We are all praying that the tear will grow back. Shawn will be in the hospital on a constant I.V. and will not be able to work or play the drums. No activity. The waiting list for a Heart and Lung Transplant is 6 months to 2 years.

We are putting together a tribute band Benefit Concert scheduled for Sunday Sept 19th to try and raise money to help Shawn's family.

2 of us on one song, and 4 of us on another song, Aja on a third doing a duet with Powerslave's singer, Rod. It will be Sara, Wanda, Aja and Doodoo. I think we jam with the fellas around 6:00. The sets are only 30 minutes so I guess we get to jam on half the set.

The benefit was such a great experience and the support shown by all the bands was enormous. I had the pleasure to meet Shawn Hill's mom after the show and she was so sweet and just overwhelmed by support for her son and his family. It was a nice feeling to be a small part of such a wonderful community effort.
Thanks Rod and all the gang from Powerslave- Singing Run To The Hills with you was a gas!
