Shipping a guitar to russia cost?

Anyone ever shipped a guitar (in a case) to russia or somewhere close from USA? I went through the online calculator for fedex and ups and they both come out to over $600, which seems a bit ridiculous.

seems about right, because guitar is "oddly shaped" when it comes to shipping packages. Long, wide and thin. If you would stack 4 guitars and put them into a single box, the cost would be the same

Doesn't seem right to me. I've had a guitar shipped with fedex from US to Greece and it was around $150. Although in the end I did have to pay almost $600 (including shipping) in customs and taxes. That depends on the price of the guitar though.
