Beyond dead inspired me to do my first reamp ever with my Countryman Type 85 and my John Cuniberti Reamp v2.

Here's a blind shootout for you fellows:

Gear:

-Presonus FIREBOX
-Countryman Type 85 DI
-John Cuniberti Reamp V2
-"High Quality" Monster and Mogami Cables
-Ibanez JS100 with a Dimebucker
-Maxon OD-820 Pro settings as a clockface-(gain 8:30, tone 12:00, level 12:30)
-Peavey Windsor
-Avatar 1x12 w/ Hellatone 60L
-Audix i5

"Chain 1" is: Guitar->Countryman->Firebox
-------------------------------->Maxon->Amp

"Chain 2" is: Firebox->Maxon->Reamp-Amp

Can you guys tell which is which?

Regardless, which do you prefer?

Remember, these are the same takes with all the same gear, unchanged mic positioning, etc. so this is just about as scientific as it gets :loco:

I hope for some good discussion!

I think that A is the live take, and B is the reamped track. I've noticed that with reamping I tend to lose a little attack and clip A has more attack then B. Either way though, the differences in a mix wouldn't be huge IMO.

I'm thinking A is the re-amp and B is live, cuz A is a bit thinner, which has been my experience with comparing live vs. re-amped tracks. But they're close enough to not matter IMO!
