Quick thanks to Harmony Dies and Demonspell for the Sigh recommendation in the 'Horror meets Metal' thread.

Don't really know how to describe Imaginary Sonicscape other than the fact that I hear deathly screams, techno-punk, bouts of lounge muzak, movie soundtrack classical pieces a la Ennio Morricone, and even jumpabout Ska. I mean, they even hint at opera on occasion!

This is mindblowing stuff. I'm sold. Fuck that, I'm moving to Japan.

What next in the Sigh catalog people?

'Imaginary Soncscape' is the least "Horror Meets Metal" release from Sigh. It is more progressive than anything. The "horror" feel you're looking for can be found on 'Ghastly Funeral Theater', 'Hail Horror Hail', or 'Scenario IV: Dead Dreams'.

'Infidel Art' is also recommended. 'Scorn Defeat' is good, but basically just a black metal album.

Wow I love discovering new stuff like this. Is 'GFT' an MCD by the way? It's priced as a full length.

Alot of peopel find Scenario IV: Dread Dreams is their weakest so I would not go with that next. I would go with eith 'HHH' or Ghastly Funeral Theater, both excellent. But nothing tops Imaginary Sonicscape in my book, it just keeps getting better. Does anyone have any information on when SIgh are going to release their next album?

I ordered HAil Horror Hail from The End.

Scorn Defeat showed up instead.

So now I have to pack this shit up and send it back. So much for free shipping....

What's the word on the new one, "Gallows Gallery"???

The reviews I've read say that the production sucks ass all the way from here to eternity (as in, it's unfinished/damaged sounding).

What a shame.

It's out, it sucks, don't bother.

Actually to be honest, it's very catchy, but I don't know...it's just not that great and has nothing to do with black metal, so it's not really my thing.

the production I don't think is too bad, it's not like they had amazing production before ....

I don't think its too bad personally, but I like a lot of weird japanese crap music.

I love Sigh. Just haven't heard the new one yet, or seen anyone discuss it much. Read some reviews and they all bitched about the production. Meh.

hahahahahha

oh it's true

first time listening to it, I seriously thought "wtf are the muppets singing on this one?!"

Someone told me that Cookie Moster no longer eats cookies. Can anyone verify this?

PS: I'm serious.

yes, there was a press release about it

I believe what happens is, he still eats cookies, but it is not something he obsesses over (since cookies are not good for kids, its a horrible image ) hah!

so, the occasional cookie still appears

New album: a definite top ten if not for those vocals...I get images of a Braveheart-like horde of midget samurai singing them. The music is great for the most part, once again equally bizarre and infectious, although the grimness of earlier releases is pretty much confined to two tracks (Gavotte Grim & Tranquilizer Song).
