Following on from their triumphant return to the metal scene in 2014, London's SIKTH has decided to answer the calls from its fans and record new music in 2015. "We've always maintained that more music would emerge one day and for the first time in years it feels like now is the time," says guitarist Dan Weller. "We had an amazing time travelling round the world last year. Having a chance to reconnect with our fans was very special for us." The as-yet-untitled EP will be the follow-up to the 2006 critically acclaimed album "Death Of A Dead Day" and will see the band enter the studio for the first time in 10 years. Vocalist Mikee Goodman adds: "We did not realize our music had spread so far! I believe we have amongst the most passionate and energetic fans in the world. I am honored to play to them. But what we have been asked most is about new music. "My desire to make new SIKTH music is as strong as it's ever been. I can't wait to get started!" Recording starts this summer with a November release date penned. It will also be the first time SIKTH will make a record without the assistance of a record label. "Since we have such a good relationship with our fans, we decided that funding the EP via a link textPledgeMusic campaign was the best option for us and them," says Weller. "We could have signed a deal but it just adds so many complications for a band like us." In support of the new EP, SIKTH will return to the stage in December with a string of headline dates in the U.K. The first tickets for the tour will be made available via the band's PledgeMusic page.
