Singer/Songwriter like Elliott Smith

Anybody into Singer/Songwriter-style music? While I like most of that genre, the music that I enjoy the most is the later work of Elliott Smith (RIP) and his studio wizardry with all the Beatlesque harmonies. Don't get me wrong, I like the 'me and my guitar' approach of most songwriters, but somehow Elliotts stuff really is something special.

Any recommendations?

Try some 'The Microphones'(now known as Mount Eerie but he hasn't released anything under that moniker). It's a guy called Phil Evrum, it's really lo-fi acoustic stuff with occasional drumming and organ and he often gets some of his friends from K Records to collobrate on songs... but live it's just him and his acoustic. It's really powerful stuff, and I recommend you check out the album "The Glow, Pt.2".
