I agree kinda with garry. Not that i know too much about split ups- but cant you be screwed for exactly 50%?
40 million? He must be performing cause he isn't getting royalties from the Beatles anymore I don't think because the Michael Jackson own all the rights to them now. But they were only married 3 and a half years, what did she do to earn that? Child support yes but 50 million off the top? I think I'm in the wrong biz. I need to find me a rich woman and knock it out for 4 years and then divorce her. My defense will be she wouldn't let me listen to metal.

Remeber guys UK law is different to the American law where a wife can have everything especially if you have children your screwed!!!!
What Paul didnt do was put her names on any properties or bank accounts if he did she would have been entitled to half.
The only problem for the rest of the UK male population will be that the current UK government have decided they are going to make it like the American system so common in law wives ( Girlfriends ) will shortly have the same rights as wives and they will be entitled to your money house and pension oh and the pot you pi*s in, so its a good job Paul got rid of her before the law changes.
And it wont make a difference if she leaves you a common in law wife can take what she wants.
wow....glad i dont live in the UK, you know half of a dollar is 50 cents.....can you imagine if you had a dollar in your pocket and you HAD to give it to someone. that means you coulda bought a soda....but now you have to wait till you get home and drink some water.

A mate of mine got his missus to sign a contract entitling her to a toilet roll! She doesnt know that yet

I now guy in North america which have been screwed more than once, heres what happens.
You move in together and get a mortgage between you and live together for 6 months.
She decides to only do part time work after this period or becomes unemployed!!!!
Then she decides to take out the mortgage payment which you have been making thus the interest starts to rocket!!also you dont recieve any mortgage statments during this time as someone has been hiding them!!( she may of forged your signature to do this)
She decides she wants to leave you because you abused her!!
And tries to get a restraining order against you??
Then the law says you have to support her because she is your common in law wife even if she left you and even if she has had an affair.
Then she demands the rest of your wages which are not being used to pay the debt from the mortgage.Thus you cannot afford your lawyer anymore so you either get a loan or let them take it out of your share if theres any left!!
Another trick is that she applys to get a court order against you because you are abusive in some manner, so you cannot go near her this makes it so you have to leave the house you are paying for if she is still resident in it.
And the other trick is for her to drive around searching for you and say you infringed the court order so you get put in jail and loose your job and this happens often so you have to walk around with you cell phone on standby to show its here whos following you
She lives on she state because she is depressed from living with you and this can count as evidence against you even if there is no physical evidence.
She then manages to drag out the court case as she doesnt submit the papers when required to.
Judges seem to not want to place women in contempt of court for this anyway they get away with this alot.
And it turns out you dont have any money until the court case is over and you cannot even afford to run your own car to get to work.
The moral of the story is dont let her have access to your bank account only place some in a seperate account for her.
Make sure the house is in your name and let her pay for the food and heating and dont let her move in make her keep on her flat.
And dont let her buy you any studio equipment or she could ask for it to be sold off if she produces any recipt of purchase of equipment with her bank details on.
I am surprised heather didnt try to get a few of Pauls vintage instruments because he has hundreds of them especially his left handed vintage les Pauls as they are worht 750,000 dollars each.
This long story is about the lengths some women will go to get what they want and I think heather tried to make out Paul was abusive as well.
Paul also has other instruments worth more.
And I am not joking about this New style of Law being implemented in the UK.
I think if they had got married in america she would of been entitled to alot more.

Man that is prety brutal and i dont know about where u guys are but in canada they recently changed the rules so that the wife can have her lawyers look into how much your making and get the alimony checks raised. and this can be like 5 or 6 years after the divorce settlement.

Yet another reason I'm happy I'm not living in the states. I'm glad we actually have a legal system built on common sense. I feel sorry for Paul though.
We used to have a good legal system in the UK until they appointed an incompetent female as head of it all you ever here now is that women need more rights because modern couples dont get married anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine what would happen to guys in the USA if a certain female candidate became the Pres!!
