Death metal veterans SIX FEET UNDER recently completed work on the follow-up to their "Crypt Of The Devil" album for a 2017 release. Vocalist Chris Barnes stated about the upcoming disc: "Our new album does not sound like any of our previous albums. Just as 'Haunted' didn't sound like 'Tomb Of The Mutilated' [from Barnes's previous band CANNIBAL CORPSE], just like 'Maximum Violence' didn't sound like 'Warpath', just like 'Undead' didn't sound like '13'. If you are expecting it to sound like one of our other albums, you will be disappointed. Saying that, the new music we have recorded is fucking insane." SIX FEET UNDER's new album was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and was previously described by Barnes as "the most brutally intense, groove-laden masterpiece we've ever put together!" SIX FEET UNDER just completed the "X-Mas in Hell Tour 2016" in Germany where the band celebrated the 21st anniversary of its debut album, "Haunted", by performing the LP in its entirety. The current SIX FEET UNDER touring lineup features Barnes alongside guitarist Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell and drummer Marco Pitruzzella. The fourth installment of SIX FEET UNDER's "Graveyard Classics" series, this time paying tribute to two of metal's most heralded legends — IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST — was released in May. Titled "Graveyard Classics IV: The Number Of The Priest" and mixed by Jesse Kirkbride at Kirkbride Recordings in Cape Coral, Florida, the album was comprised of five JUDAS PRIEST covers (side A), and six IRON MAIDEN covers (side B), handpicked by Metal Blade Records CEO Brian Slagel.
