"We can't wait to play these songs live and put on a rock extravaganza for our fans. We're excited to announce that we're bringing along APOCALYPTICA as special guest because we are fans of their music and think this is going to be an amazing night of music from beginning to end.""For three records now we have been envisioning what a SIXX: A.M. headlining tour would look and feel like," Michael added. The band celebrated the CD release by playing its first full live show since 2009 the same night. The performance took place at the iHeart Theater in Burbank, California. The show, as well as a question-and-answer session with the band about the new album, its influences and the band's future plans was broadcast exclusively live on iHeartRadio and select Clear Channel radio stations.Joining Sixx, Ashba and Michael for the Burbank performance was drummer Jeff Fabb (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, IN THIS MOMENT). Ashba told Legendary Rock Interviews about Jeff: "[He is the] same guy who played drums on the 'Modern Vintage' album. He is an incredible drummer. It was a lot of fun to work with him and we were really happy to have him on the record. He agreed to come in and do the show with us, which just makes sense."According to Ashba, "Modern Vintage" marks the first time SIXX: A.M. has used a live drummer on one of its albums, having previously relied solely on programmed drums while in the recording studio. "It was the first album where we actually felt it was important to capture that big album vibe we were going after," he explained. "To bring in a live drummer, it really made a huge difference, you know; it gave the whole entire album and songs a new breath of fresh air, which was really cool."As previously reported, SIXX: A.M. will sign copies of "Modern Vintage" during the group's first-ever in-store appearance on Wednesday, October 8 at Best Buy in Burbank, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Best Buy Store #1371501 N. Victory PlaceBurbank, CA 91504-1647Michael recently told Lithium Magazine about "Modern Vintage": "We think it's our best record so far, and the feedback has been really incredible, to be honest with you. "When we put out the first single, 'Gotta Get It Right', it was a daring choice for us, because we had other songs on the album that were so much more what SIXX: A.M. fans are expecting. But because of how different this record is and how important it is to us, we wanted to put out a single that kind of set the stage for what is to come"DJ and I got back from Europe a couple of weeks ago and we were doing a bunch of press over there and I was kind of blown away with how positive the reaction has been, because when you take risks like this, you fully expect to get some pushback. But it has been wonderful so far."
