SKILLET singer John Cooper recently joined Brian Kilmeade of Fox Nation to talk about merging heavy metal and Christian music, becoming one of the best-selling rock bands of the 21st century, how radio play is still very important for musicians success and sensing early on that President Trump would be able to win the state of Wisconsin in 2016. Cooper, who grew up in Memphis but has lived in Wisconsin for 20 years, was asked if he had an inkling during the last presidential race that Trump was making inroads in his adopted home state. He responded (see video below): "I'm not a political commentator. But I did sense that early on. I called my wife right when Trump announced [he was running for president]. And I didn't know anything from his TV show. I only knew Trump just from '80s movies that would reference Trump. And I said, 'This guy is running for office, and this guy could win,' because he was so ballsy — [he would] just say whatever he thought. And I think some people liked it." SKILLET's tenth full-length album, "Victorious", will be released on August 2 via Atlantic. In support of "Victorious", SKILLET will headline a tour this August joined by SEVENDUST with special guests POP EVIL and DEVOUR THE DAY.
