SKINFLINT "Dipoko" - Cover, Tracklist, release date: 26th July 2013

The rerelease date of the SKINFLINT album "Dipoko" is July 26th, 2013. The preorder phase will start on July 12th, 2013 in our webshop.

The third studio album “Dipoko” by the African metal band SKINFLINT will also be released on CD by Pure Steel Records. At the end of last year, this album was released by Metal Records on CD-Rom, and it offers classic, flawless metal of the best kind. This album features a very basic, dry sound, that suits the songwriting very well. You can still hear the influences of the early US-Epic/Heavy-Metal, but the songwriting of the nine tracks on “Dipoko” is more independent and catchier than on the album before (“Iklwa”). There are some very good sing-along-tunes like “Iron Mamba”, or “Blood Ox Ritual”, which has a very traditional beginning with African drums. These songs will surely make SKINFLINT one of the favourite bands of metal-gourmets.

African barbarian steel: this term will now be reserved for SKINFLINT exclusively!

The release date of the SKINFLINT album "IKLWA" is September 27th, 2013. The preorder phase will start on September 13th, 2013 in our webshop.

The third longplayer „Dipoko“ of the African Heavy/Epic Metalheads SKINFLINT was already released by Pure Steel Records recently. Now their 2nd album “IKLWA” is going to be re-released, since this was only available in minimal quantities up to now.

Again cranky Epic Metal is ruling the album, which causes slight memories to bands like Manilla Road or Cirith Ungol. However, the old heroes aren’t only copied at any time, cause the band got an own independent, bone dry and warm retro sound. Catchy riffs are hitting expansive rhythmic structures and the gnarly guitar sound is calling also bands like Realm Builder in the mind. Together with the more rough vocals and the genre-typical hand-drawn cover this is another gem for any true metal maniac.

With the reissued albums „Iklwa“ (2010) and „Dipoko“ (2012) SKINFLINT from Botswana already got a lot of attention within the last few years. Their very original mix between obscure Epic and Heavy Metal, featuring elements of African Folklore, immediately got big attention.

The old tradition can still be heard very well on the new output „Nyemba“. With pure passion and enthusiasm guitarist/singer Giuseppe Sbrana and his two sidekicks prove, that also on the poorest planet on earth Heavy Metal has conquered the souls of many people. The folkloristic elements of the eight tracks also give that exotic flair to “Nyemba”, which meanwhile has got an original trademark of the band. Also the basic, solid production has been put down on the actual output.

On a bit more than 30 minutes “Manilla Road of Africa” are calling out for the fourth battle; and “Nyemba” will enlarge the fanclub even a bit more!
