It's funny the more interviews you read you really start to notice how different members see the band, and what the last decade of Testament was like. Some of the times they seem to contrast a good deal From member to member and sometimes interview to interview. It's cool to get a little insight into each member's take on things.I'm also shocked to read Alex say "I think they weren’t sure how much longer the band was going to be going". That's the first time I've heard that. The interviews I read in the past were pretty much of Chuck and Eric being resigned to but OK with different line ups because they were all friends anyway and that having new blood was what helped keep them current and heavy,And that they would keep bangin with whoever was in at the time.I know it's not as cool a feeling as the mostly original line up but questioning the bands existence with "The Gathering" under their belt is a new one for me.And when Alex say's that the old magic is what brought Paul in.I thought it was because Nick couldn't get his Visa?I'm not criticizing( and I could be wrong) I just think it's interesting.I like that Paul want's to capture what is working live for the next album.Hopefully that means more songs like " TFOD" !
Really good interview thanks! p.s. does anyone else consider"Kiss" an honorary metal band?..just curious
