I've been testing it for a couple of days and I quite like it even tho I hate the fact that I don't really know what it's doing . Probably a combination of compression/saturation/transient shaping but with very few controls over the process.

That was my first thought but it sounds quite different to my ears.

Really liking it, can get real different feels depending on how hard you push the drive. It can easily be over the top, but even a small mix of 10% or so can life things in a very pleasant way. I only had a mix that was pretty much done to play with it on and with there already being a good amount of processing - bomber was quick to sound way too much but I look forward to the next mix from scratch as I can see myself using less comp/parallel comp on drums etc with this. Still not really liking it with the VU driven hard, actually keeping it a notch or two below the bomb icon for more transient enhancing. Also really like what the present mode does to bass guitar.
