"Seasons in the Abyss" is my fave. It has great tempo changes. It is the most diverse of their releases, and the drum fills Dave put on there own !!

everything up to Seasons of the Abyss.. but if i had to choose a album it would be either Reign in Blood or South of Heaven...

I assume it's mostly from burn out. The influence of RiB pretty much speaks for itself.

Count me as another "Hell Awaits" fan, although RiB is greatness.

Reign In Blood, less than 30 minutes of pure mayhem and destruction (feel free to insert more appropriate band names ). Other than that, anything up to Seasons will do, except for Hell Awaits, which is IMO half awesome, half filler stuff.

I'd have to say the opening title track on Hell Awaits is one of the strongest album openers ever. I never get tired of how that progresses.
