SLIPKNOT MASKS or MUSIC?

The music was what got me interested in them. Couldn't care less about what they look like. They also put on a great show too. I saw them in Ottawa a few months back and loved it.

Not a big fan of the 3rd album either. Like the first 2 though. And have you heard the Mate Feed Kill Repeat one?

Think again.
I would agree that there is maximum ball suckage on Vol. 3. Lackluster material, and horrible mastering. Mastered so fucking loud it just ruined it; the meh material was the lynchpin: into the trash can! (OK, I only had a copy)

I avoided Slipknot for a while because of the stupid masks. I confused them and stupid fuckers like Insane Clown Posse. But then I got their self-titled secondhand and it blew me away. Iowa is a brutal record but they ran out of ideas and creativity after that.

vol.3 has absolutly no swear words anywhere. I didnt realize it until about the 4th time i heard it. weird.
they must not have needed to be there in the first place if you didn't notice they were missing. the last one aint that great but, IOWA was gay as hell. with the goat and all the fake satanic posing. totally lame.
If you're 555, then I'm 666 . give me a fucking break.

I took my kid to see them...it was torture. Lamb of God and Shadows Fall rocked, but these guys blew! Yeah that 555, 666 song...hella-gay!

I had never heard of them until Ozzfest 99. I was just kinda hanging out on the second stage, and these dudes in masks and jump suits came out with the PA blaring "the whole thing I think is sick." I asked my friend if these guys were for real. It seemed for about the first 3 minutes all they did is stare down and flip off the crowd. My first initial thought was "these guys are going to suck." I was then hit in the face, not sure if it was the music, or some dudes steel toe. But it was heavy. I was kinda like "jesus fuck!!!" the whole set. The drummer (Joey)is phenominal, and about as tall as my 10 year old step son!! The clown fell of his riser twice, and the long nosed guy picked a fight with the dude in front of me. The masks didnt bother me as one of my friends bands at the time dressed up as Amish people and played death metal. I was hooked on the sopt. I went out and bought the album the next day. Masks or not, I look at the music. Kiss, Alice Cooper, and Marilyn Manson all had a schtick. And yes, Mick is a shred master, I have a few older guitar world mags with him talking theory and music. Kinda a waste doing drop tuned stuff, but hey, whatever pays the bills.

Apparently it has been discovered that the number of the beast is not 666. It is 616. Anyone heard this?
