SLIPKNOT was recently forced to postpone the first two weeks of its North American tour with MARILYN MANSON after SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor underwent what he described as "an unplanned spinal surgery." The trek, which also includes OF MICE & MEN in the opening slot, was supposed to kick off on June 9 in Salt Lake City but will now begin on June 28 in Nashville. SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told Metal Hammer about his bandmate: "We already have all the shows rescheduled so it's a hiccup, but it's not a big deal. The other thing is, we've been on this tour about two years. That's a lot, so it's amazing that we got this far." He continued: "I think Corey's awesome. He got his neck cut in two, he's a singer, he's got to wear a mask with the neck support and we've got suits, we all know how big his neck gets — it gets huge. He went through some serious shit. What happened and what he had to do is pretty fucking serious, and the fact that he actually wants to go back out amazes me. But we're doing it and everything's cool. I've been talking to him and he's great, and things are good." The summer trek is likely to be SLIPKNOT's last in support of its latest album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", which was released in October 2014. Following the tour, SLIPKNOT and BLACK SABBATH will co-headline the combined Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, a two-day festival scheduled for September 24-25 in San Bernardino, California.
