Been listening to lots of Slough Feg lately, with Hardworlder and a physical copy of Down Among the Deadmen showing up today. Traveller is becoming my favourite album, even if Brave Conner Mac still remains their greatest tune.

So, by accident really, I figured out how similar Slough Feg and Pearl Jam are. Both bands do the same thing, with obviously different results:

-go it alone attitude
-obscure riffs into traditional song structures
-twofold enjoyment, the base level is lots of fun but repeated listening brings about a level of incredible depth
-constant nods to the past, but existing solely in their own time
-Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town is a perfect anagram of The Lord Weird Slough Feg Kicks My Dick In

Also, in case anyone doubts the artfagginess of The Lord Weird Slough Feg:

No I don't expect anyone to agree with me, if I based my opinions on that I would've stopped talking altogether years ago. :dopey:

For me, Down Among the Deadmen is their best, followed by Twilight of the Idols, then Traveller and so on. And yes, Brave Connor Mac is one of their best tunes. :kickass:

Yeah, and the fact that Scalzi sounds just like Veder

Ok, I got Hardworlder in the mail yesterday, listened to it twice in the car today on the way to/from work, and WOW!!!! The magic is back! :kickass: This album flows better than Atavism... where I'll end up ranking it is yet to be seen.

Either way, the samples did no justice to the great songs on this disc.
