What do you guys think of Smyth? As he hasn't recorded anything yet, give your impressions from live shows.....The two times I saw him live, he ripped off all the solos well, and did a great job on "The legacy"......only complaint is that both times he was mixed WAY to low!

~Dragon Lord: Rapture
line-up...

Eric Peterson-guitar/vocals
Steve Smyth-guitar
Steve Digiorgio-bass
Jon Allen-drums
Lyle Livingston-keyboards

~Smyth's solos on that are phenominal, and the album in general is damn good too. Imagine Testament playing a more black metal style and you've almost scratched the surface. The only thing missing is Chuck.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Steve Smyth perform with Testament (and DragonLord) will tell you he is awesome. I would never expect less from any member of Testament . . . have they EVER presented less than best? Steve was also fantastic at TOTT (he played with Forbidden Evil wearing the biggest grin of the night).

Thanks for adding your skill and personality to the Testament team, Steve!

I take it that Steve was the light haired guitarist? Was the other guitarist Craig Locicero? I love Forbidden but have never seen any pics of them since I haven't been able to find the albums

~I know for a fact that cdnow.com has their first three albums, and they're pretty fast and reliable. But I'm sure someone else has other ideas. Forbidden are worth looking for though, and definately one of the most underrated bands even created.

yup, that's the freak ;). the other guitarist (dark haired) was ex-forbidden/ex-nevermore member tim calvert. craig did not participate.

i'll be posting photos of the forbidden performance at TOTT on the TL site.

That was Calvert? Hmm... Did Locicero play the leads in the original?

glen alvelais and craig locicero were the original guitarists in 'forbidden evil'. glen left, and tim calvert came on board, then the band became 'forbidden'.

there are forbidden fans here who could explain this better than myself.

smyth was guest guitarist for half the forbidden set at TOTT, graciously invited by glen to participate.

I know about the line-up and name changes of Forbidden (Evil) but I was just wondering if Locicero did those solos since they really don't sound like Alvelais though I might be wrong.
