so yeah we like kind of sort of finsihed the tracking for it today around 6:15. We just need to do a few vocal touch-ups at the next recording session and then we begin the arduous task of mixing this thing.

I remember hearing interviews with Blind Guardian talking about how Nightfall In Middle-Earth had songs with like 120-130 tracks and being unable to comprehend such THICKNESS on an album. But considering that at the most we have broken 100 tracks on one or more of the songs I am beginning to understand a bit more.

THICKER = BIGGER = MORE DENSE = BETTER

I would like to point out that the similar threads for this are amazing...

100 tracks is definitely alot but you will hear why there were so many when we are finished. i expect there will be samples put up sometime in the near future when the album is finished being mastered in july. until then we are keeping it under wraps.

You could go all metallica and not master the damn thing... while your at it be sure to make the snare sound like the crash from My Fruit..

100 tracks? that is quite a few! i used 39 on one of my demo tracks, but mostly that was because i was too lazy to scroll back up and reuse tracks ;)

100 is a lot though, this can only mean many varied sounds and such, which is a great thing! Have fun mixing that one, i don't think it'd be possible to not get a big full sound from it, but of course your challenge will be getting all that stuff to be clear and make some sort of sense!

good luck :)

ok i think i got a little over-excited in the studio. i actually think we haven't exceeded 100 tracks yet on any of the songs although i believe we are right on the threshold at like 96 or something.

either way its fucking massive
