.......is one of the most amazing songs ever.

And Sabotage, as a whole, is marvelous.

And I've come to the conclusion that Volume 4 is their best album.

I kind of chop + change by mood on this one
vol4 was one of the first albums I ever bought..aged 12
I didn'y really understand it at the time, but sabotage was fairly instant
the first 5 are godly though and theres no real point dissecting them
they can be viewed as a whole I think

going to listen to master of reality now :)

J, have you ever heard Bill Ward's 'Ward One' album?
its better than anything ozzy ever did (post sabs) although he sings on a couple of tunes on it
i'd reco it if I had the cd
very hard to get though, only got a tape myself

Sabotage > Volume 4.

Correct. The Writ is an amazing track, but even something as brilliant as that or Symptom pales before the awesomeness that is Megalomania. I mean, mellotron and cowbell on the same song...does it get any better? :) Never heard that Ward album, but I seriously doubt it's better than Diary Of A Madman...

I find megolamania too long. that's the 9+ minute one right? I love THrill of It All, though.

for me:

1. Volume 4
2. Sabotage
3. Master of Reality
4. Black Sabbath
5. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
6. Paranoid

yeah wheels of onfusion is great.

so i found that life is just a game
but you know there's never been a winner
try your hardest, you'll still be a loser
the world will still be turning when you've gone

mondo :kickass:

still, "After Forever" is one of my top 3 Sab songs. hell I even love the Biohazard (yes, Biohazard!) version.

but The Writ, oh The Writ, is like sweet nectar.....

Vol. 4 is the be all end all of Ozzy era Sabbath.

And I have the entire Ward One cd. A very strange, yet infectious cd, has Ozzy, Jack Bruce, Zakk Wylde, actually, has like 40 people on it...

I remember the video he had with Ozzy for Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays). Great song.

But Dairy being the last great cd Ozzy released???? C'mon now... 4 words for you, Bark At The Moon. Period.

"Waiting For Darkness" is still one of the best heavy metal songs ever penned. EVER.
