Favela of My Dismay
32 Beers all together. May be broken in to 2 rounds of 16. Then a face off in the finals by the 2 survivors. What's some "must" have entrants into this battle royal of biblical yeast rising proportions?

First entrant is Arrogant Bastard. But I hear Stone Brew has better Ale's. If so, which is the best? Recommend everything and anything that you would consider top notch beer. Creme de la creme suggestions please.

Arrogant Bastard is my favorite from Stone, but the Levitation, Ruination, and especially the Smoked Porter are excellent. I've never had a Double Bastard, I'm gay.

Also pretty much anything by Deschutes, Young's, Samuel Smith, MARIN COUNTY HOLY FUCK, MENDOCINO COUNTY EVEN HOLIER FUCK JESUS, and... well those are my personal favorites. Go to Bevmo! Also go to Liquorama, it's in Upland and worth the trip! Oh wait, you're not that far from there. San Antonio and Foothill, GO!!!

Check the snobby beer purchases thread for more awesome information!

So upland is the place aye? I'll look into this. I was going to go to Bevmo in Pasadena. Does Liquorama have a wider selection, or is it along the same lines?

Liquorama is like the small business version of Bevmo, which means it's still an actual liquor store and not Wal-marted out. Both are great.

Liquor Warehouse is on Foothill as well, but in Rancho Cucamonga (and I always forget exactly where), some tiny ass mom n' pop place that only carries Marlboro Lights and St. Ide's, until you realize they have a whole basement full of booze.

Discount Liquor Warehouse
10277 Foothill Blvd
Rancho Cucamonga

Those two places, any Bevmo, Trader Joe's, and the place up the street from me called La Bodega truly satisfy all my boozing needs.

O.K I checked out the snobby beer thread. Will I be able to get the recommended from Bevmo?

Weyerbacher HERESY - Old Heathen Imperial Stout & Dog Fish 90 min I.P.A

Bevmo has pretty much everything, including beers that were once impossible to get this far south, like Deschutes.

Friday would be wiser.

I was also thinking that we should all have a RC 32 week beer tourney. How to make it happen online is the trick? My only guess would be for everyone to some how get a hold of the same brew on the designated day of the week. Drink it. And give it a number rating. The point totals get added and then divided to find an avg. Ofcourse the beers would have to be mainstream enough for everyone to get a hold of. Either a rating system break down. Or week to week head to head match ups with 2 brews a week going at it bubble to bubble.

Good idea.

We could get a laptop and do a joint session of Congress in the parking lot of Liquorama if need be.

They don't have to sit in front of the pc jacking off to porn while drinking ale. Just buy the brew within 3 days of the designated date. Give it a rating. Next week comes everyone moves on to another beer. And so forth. Prob can't work. But it's a thought. :dopey:

Great Divide Old Ruffian Barley Wine Ale
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout
Old Rasputin Imperial Stout
Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Great Divide Double Hercules
Dogfish Head Raison D'etre
Stone Ruination IPA
Stone Double Arrogant Bastard
Lagunitas Maximus

plenty more but im too buzzed to remember all my favs

We just went to Bevmo. They didn't have half of what you mentioned. We did pick up some Fiddler's Elbow however. This beer fucking slays! Where the hell is my Demons and Wizards CD? :dopey:

With a label like that and a price of two dollars, you can't go wrong! Tastes like spices and pumpkins, though. EEIIRRWEWESS.

So this shit turned out to be a total bust. We doubled up on 16 different brews.
Some of the contenders off the top of my head are.

Black Sheep Ale
Guiness
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
San Miguel (atrocious)
Hobgoblin
Moose Drool
Winter Solstice
Some german beer with a pope looking fellow on the cover
Negra Modelo
Apricot Beer
Molson's
And a couple others I don't care to remember.

Well we broke the beers up in to two divisions. North American Beers on one side, "The World" on the other. The 2 winners would then face each other in the finals. Single Elimination, one fall to the finish. Well we don't get through 1 fucking round before half the people stop drinking the beer. All of a sudden, they don't "care" no more. Everyone was in a hurry to go to a bar. Why, when we had over 50 brews in attendance was beyond me. So my buddy I bailed and went to see plastic hooters. And we all know how that turned out. Moral of the story. I'm now a hermit.
