Solitude Aeturnus' first 2 albums are straight-up some of the best doom I've ever heard. Lowe's voice is remarkable--melodic, emotional, and mournfully depressing all at the same time. The final 3 albums saw a change in the band, which I also liked alot. But the first 2 hold a special place in my heart, and always will.

I hear that not only is there a new album in the works, but also the first 2 are going to be re-released on a small label. Definitely a chance for all you who missed these guys to check it out. "Into the Depths of Sorrow" and "Beyond the Crimson Horizon" still make it into my CD changer regularly--over 10 years after they were released. The riffing on those albums just drives me mad....so freakin' heavy.
