Some Alexi/Warmen style shred for you (Lee Jackson GP1000, SDII, some shitty bass...)

Shred is right! :) Once it starts, it doesn't let up. I like it! Just turn up those leads some more...they're too good to keep them buried. :)

Thanks dude.

It's one of those things were I think it's either too loud or too low.

sounds good man luv that alexi tone..what impulses did you use??

No impulses.

Hey dude, freakin' awesome playing; but definitely too low on the solos (which are almost terrifyingly Alexi-esque - I mean that as a compliment in that I love Alexi's chops and incredible melody/taste, but not so much as a compliment in that if I didn't know better, I'd say it was him playing on this :erk: ). Also, the rhythm tone is SOOOOOO fizzy (or more like buzzy, really) and very scooped, I have a hard time making out much pitch. Those GFlex cabs always seemed kinda suspect to me spec-wise, why not go for a good ol' Marshall 1960? (if your set on the T75 tone, as I gather you are ;)). The rhythm tone definitely needs more 1k mids, but at least it makes a nice hole for the solos to pop, though too much so IMO (and the solos still do need to come up more!) Also, the snare is incredibly muffled, and the kick is pretty good though could do with some suction between 200-400, it's a bit muddy/boxy (and after that, could probably come up in volume). Cymbals sound good though!

And where's the Warman shred if this all guitar?

Hey marcus, thanks for checking it out. :kickass:

You know, this was all improvised, just made it up along as I went, took a few takes and moved on so it's really just how it comes out sometimes. Though I did jack that sweep and tap thing alexi does in everysolo almost at the end of the first bit. While Alexi and Roope are big influences, I assure you I listen to and worship other guys too. :lol::lol:

I got the GB 4-5 years ago as I present and haven't had cash to afford a 1960 yet, I've been trying hard to find someone in my area who wants to trade. It's been a bitch finding a good rhythm tone really, too many fucking mids (v30 clone + 57 clone) so I end up scooping the mids and boosting the highs in post, I was working on the whole song for nearly 10 hours yesterday so my ears were fucked thanks to the blasting guitars 10 feet away. :hypno:

I agree about the kick and snare. I used DSS3's SD ambient mic technique and it def helped out there.

I guess the bit of harsichord at the beginning made it a bit Warmenish.

Yeah, I'm sure a big part of it is the tone and music - that said, those sweep and alternate picked licks, though excellently played, definitely sound...familiar :D Nicely done for improvised though! And maybe ease up on what you did eq-wise after the fact to smooth out the tone (cuz I'm gathering it was pretty substantial) What's your name btw man?

Yeah, it's pretty hard EQ'ing. I'll do some different shit on the next song, I'm sick of this one.

It's Jon.

Hey, if you ever release an album with this kind of shred id buy it!

Good stuff, i was sad that it wasn't longer

Haha, thanks dude! :rock::kickass:
