I have a probllem w/the way certain ppl's deaths are hyped because of the way they died.Like how Kurt Cobain and Lisa Lopez(TLC)'s deaths are oh,so tragic, yet no one seemed to give a fuck about Layne Staley...are,for those of you who are wondering-NO,I WILL NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT LAYNE STALEY BECAUSE I HAVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HIM AND WHAT I HAVE TO SAY IS AT LEAST SOMEWHAT RELEVANT TO THIS TOPIC!!!Anyway...Kurt Cobain was a heroin addict who blew his head off with a shot gun.Lisa Lopez was a pyromaniac/alcoholic(I think)who died in a car crash. She was driving in the car with several other ppl, speeding and did not have a licsence. When they died, everyone mourned and have not stopped talking about it. Layne Staley was a heroin addict who died of an overdose. And the only time I ever hear anything about his death,it is always called "tragic, but not unexpected."And it is no longer about Layne Staley, how he is missed nor about Alice in Chains's music-it is about how heroin is bad and how he is a bad person for dying the way he did. Now,for those who agree with all of that heroin stuff,I'll just ask this-Would it be more socially acceptable if Layne Staley had killed himself of had died in a car crash which would've been due only to his own neglagence?Because that sure does seem to be more acceptable for everyone else.
