According to the Phoenix New Times, Phoenix police have confirmed that someone tried to sell LAMB OF GOD guitarist Willie Adler's "Warbird" guitar on OfferUp.com on Saturday, three days after it was stolen from the venue where the band performed. OfferUp lets users buy and sell directly without giving out their personal information. The theft occurred early Thursday morning before LAMB OF GOD's show at Phoenix's Ak-Chin Pavilion as the support act for SLAYER. Also stolen was one of bassist John Campbell's unique, hand-painted bass guitars. "The pieces of shit that did this are suspected to be employed by @akchin.pavilion. local hands that were working Wednesday, our tour production day," Willie wrote in an Instagram post. "Apparently, they waited around for all to leave, and made their way into the back of our semi to commit this felony. AGAIN..under the watch of @akchin.pavilion and their security. Karma is a fuckin bitch." Phoenix police say they actively are investigating the crime. Following Monday's Phoenix New Times article about the theft, the Warbird had reportedly been offered up on OfferUp by someone calling themselves "Clash With." After exchanging a few notes with a potential buyer, the seller changed his profile photo and was no longer responding to inquiries. "One [of the guitars] did turn up on OfferUp," said Phoenix Police Sergeant Vince Lewis. "We have yet to name a suspect or recover either guitar. Our investigators are actively working this case. The more we release, the harder it becomes to catch up with a suspect or locate these items before either go underground or into the wind." Live Nation Entertainment, owner of the Ak-Chin Pavilion, put out a message via marketing director Danielle Engel: "The venue is cooperating fully with local law enforcement. We cannot comment further as this is an ongoing investigation." LAMB OF GOD's current North American tour with SLAYER kicked off in Phoenix and will culminate at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on May 25. LAMB OF GOD is also scheduled to perform at Domination Mexico festival in Mexico City on May 4 and Sonic Temple festival, taking place at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on May 18. The band will begin a run of European festivals and headline dates on June 13.
