Whenever I learn a kickass song and get it down, I don't feel really lively. But when you play it live, do you feel all that hardwork payed off? Like in my school's talent show, I played The Godfather Theme which I learned about a day before and I didn't really feel confident, but I had a lot of fun performing it. So my question is...Do you really start appreciating your hardwork and dedication once you have other people hear you and play it live?

I think you realise how much you suck when you play it for other ppl. You notice your errors more and everyone else probably doesnt.... so its no big problem. Well thats how it is 4 me.

I like the compliments. That makes it worthwhile.

well, it's the appreciation, it's like when you draw a picture or anything like that and show it to someone, for the reason of an improved self-confidence, what lets you feel better. If you play it alone, you are proud of it, of course,
but nonetheless it is boring because nobody hears it...so, you include other persons, for appreciation and respect and that also makes you happier.

Actually yeah it's cool to show it off to people. Like lately I finally learned the fast intro part in Out Of The Ashes and I'm dying to play it in front of people to see their reactions.

There's songs that I get bored to tears playing them, but when my band plays them at a show, I have the time of my fucking life.

I do go insane about noticing my errors after I play, though. The crowd doesn't notice, but it's insentive to really clean up my playing next time I practice.
