this is my bands (DISTRICTS) song from our ep which was produced by ex eternal lord drummer stu mckay at studio6 in swindon uk

would like some opinions on the sound

I was into Eternal Lord back in the 06 days Had no idea Stu went on to do production though!

Any details on recording? Guitars sound amazing

Edit: Just looking at his myspace, set up looks pretty modest. Is he using his macbook pro for everything?

cheers. yea drums were done live apart from the kick being triggerd. then the snare was sound replaced i think... he hand quantized everything and all cymbals are natural. guitars on right side are 1 track peavey 6505 through mesa 4x12 and 1 track pod farm. left side guitars are 1 track dual rec through mesa 4x12 and 1 track pod farm. both cabs obviously micd with sm57 and in isolation box. bass is pod farm with an ampeg plug in used. yea hes realy good to work with. +he gets the drums sounding mega tight but stil sort of natural.

totally fucking digging it. production sounds great. i see a lot more producers using pod and real amps together nowadays.

It sounds good, the songwriting and mixing aren't anything super impressive to me, though. Sounds are good, editing is good, the overall essence is definitely there.
